About Us

Essence of ThymeEssence of Thyme College of Holistic Studies was incorporated in 1995 and operated principally as a retail and wholesale aromatherapy business and holistic spa. During that time, Colleen taught many aromatherapy classes and workshops in college settings, through community centers and through her businesses.

In 2012, Colleen introduced her Aromatherapy Certification Course. Colleen’s expertise in product development and formulation, aromatherapy practice, business and adult education is reflected in the aromatherapy course curriculum. The course is offered through correspondence to allow the learner to work in the comfort of their home and at their own pace. There are some optional, interactive components to the course which help to create a community amongst the students in a virtual classroom-like environment.

Since the course rolled out in 2012, hundreds of students have enrolled in the Essence of Thyme course all around the globe. The course has passed the rigorous audits of the British Columbia Alliance of Aromatherapy; the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists; The Alliance of International Aromatherapists and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists.
